Rent a chair, run your own business

We rent chairs to licensed stylists who want their own clients, menu, prices and hours, in a room with other people who do good work.

You bring your clients and your craft. We keep the room, the shampoo bowls, the laundry and the front door. The terms of a chair are discussed in person, once we have met.

What a chair includes

  • Your own book link, menu and prices

  • Your own days, within the shop's open hours

  • A shared shampoo area, laundry and front door

  • A policies page you don't have to write

How joining works

From first message to your own chair

No one is rushed, and you talk with the stylists you would share the room with.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Write to us

Tell us what you do, who your clients are and when you would like to start.

  2. 02

Step 2: Come and see the room

Visit when the shop is open, look at the chairs and talk with the people who work here.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Talk terms

We go through the chair, the shop's rules and what we ask of everyone, and you ask us anything.

  4. 04

Step 4: Set up your chair

Add your license, build your menu and book link, and tell your clients where to find you.

Questions from stylists

Who can rent a chair?

Licensed stylists in good standing who run their own business and want to work in a shared room. We care about the work and how you treat clients and the other stylists.

What do you ask of everyone?

Your current license on file, your own appointments and records, and the shop's rules on booking, deposits, canceling and patch tests, which are the same at every chair.

Do I set my own prices and hours?

Yes. You set your prices, your menu and your days, within the hours the shop is open. Your book link shows them.

What does a chair cost?

We talk about the terms of a chair in person, once we have met and you have seen the room.

Can I bring my own clients?

Yes. Most of us did. New clients also find you through the Find your stylist page.
